The Wandering Angler Team

The Wandering Angler has proudly served the Jackson Hole area for close to 20 years. Fishing is our passion, and we are grateful every day we get to share the experience with others. In fact, if you ask one of our guides what they like to do on their day off, we guarantee their answer is fishing!

Not only are we passionate about catching fish, we also believe that a professional guide is one that is on time, clean, and patient. Our guides arrive early to pick up locations prepared with a clean truck and boat, ready for another great day on the water.

Training and Education

Believe it or not, fishing does come second to our top priority which is safety. Each spring our guides complete First Aid, CPR, and Swiftwater Rescue to better prepare themselves in the event that those skills are needed. Each guide spends hours on each river honing in their skills and understanding the river.

Our guides also check in with guests before each trip to remind them of the importance of sunglasses, sunscreen, and drinking plenty of water. With the right preparation, any day on the water will be an enjoyable one.

Conservation

Although there are many components to fly fishing, we couldn’t do it without the fish and the rivers they call home. We have the utmost respect for the waters we work on each day and conservation is an important part of the larger picture.

Jackson Hole is home to several nonprofits including the Snake River Fund, Trout Unlimited, The Greater Yellowstone Coalition and more. These organizations are paramount in protecting the resources we all love. From supporting local nonprofits to picking up trash along the river banks, preserving our resources is a part of why we love what we do.

Embark on an extraordinary fly fishing adventure that will take you on an unforgettable journey through serene rivers and picturesque landscapes. Our meticulously crafted tour is designed to cater to anglers of all levels, from beginners looking to hone their casting techniques to seasoned experts seeking new challenges in uncharted waters.

Travis Perez

Travis is no stranger to the river or catching big fish. He began his journey in Michigan but has been nomadic since college searching for good skiing and great fishing. When he’s not rowing a boat, you can usually find him walking along a river bank, searching for the next good hole.

Will Jordan

“That’s You!” … Will’s most common instinct to say when those big cutthroat gulp a fly on the surface of the water column. Whether it’s guiding or free time, you can find Will on the river most days. “Techi techi” as he puts it. All smiles. Today is gonna be a blast.

Brendan Cherwalk

Brendan started his fishing journey in the great state of Michigan fishing salmon and steelhead in the Great Lakes tributaries. Following his career in hockey, it brought him to Vancouver Island, BC, where he found and fell in love fly fishing. Over the past 5 years he’s spent many hours on the water chasing the many species of fish that BC has to offer both on the ocean and in the river. During Brendan’s free time, you can find him tying flies and/or camping with friends. Brendan is looking to get after it this season and find the next big fish.

Ryan Moran

When Ryan was young you could find him riding his bike, fly rod in hand to local ponds around the suburbs of Chicago, and fishing small brook trout streams at his family’s cottage in Northern Wisconsin. After high school, knowing fly fishing was his true passion, Ryan found himself guiding in Alaska chasing big rainbows and evading bears. Each fall, Ryan guides elk hunts in Montana, and is where he fell in love with the scenery, culture, and history of the Rocky Mountains. Ryan’s laid back attitude will ensure you have an enjoyable and memorable experience on the river!

Caleb Morrill

Caleb grew up in Scott Valley, California nestled between the Russian wilderness, the Trinity Alps, and the Marble Mountain Range. He grew up fishing, whitewater rafting and kayaking along the Klamath River. He recently graduated from UC Davis with his Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering. In his free time he loves anything outdoors: fishing, kayaking, and hiking.
