Peak Spring Run-Off
- River: Snake River, Green River
- Flows: Snake River @ Flat Creek: 12,800 cfs / Green River @ Warren Bridge: 1860 cfs
- Weather: Mostly sunny with daytime highs in the low to mid 60s
- Water Clarity: Snake River is high and stained, but starting to clear slightly with recent cooler temps. Green River clarity is steady at about 1–2 feet.
The Snake River is running high and colored, which can make fishing a bit tougher. The cooler weather has helped clarity improve slightly. Streamers are a good go-to right now, especially in softer water. Small blue winged olives are showing in spots, and nymphing with worms and Pat’s Rubber Legs has been working.
The Green River is starting to fish better and nymphing is picking up. Streamers continue to produce, especially near structure and in deeper runs.
What’s Working:
- Dry Flies: Sparse Blue Winged Olives, size 18–20.
- Nymphs: Pat’s Rubber Legs, red San Juan Worms (size 14–16), small flashy jig nymphs.
- Streamers: Olive Sculpzillas, white Dungeons, Sparkle Minnows.
