Pre Run Off
- River: Snake River, Green River
- Flows: Snake River @ Flat Creek: 2,420 cfs / Green River @ Warren Bridge: 289 cfs
- Weather: Mostly sunny with daytime highs in the low to mid 60s. Cold front with precipitation moving in mid to late week with highs in the low 40s.
- Water Clarity: Snake River is clear with good visibility. Green River clarity is also holding strong.
The Snake River is experiencing intermitten changes in visibility and flows as periods of warm weather melt lower elevation snow, muddying the water and making fishing conditions a tad bit tougher. Periods of cool weather with precipitation are slowing the snow melt and allow the river to clear again befor the next batch of warm weather. Skwala is the go to right now, with a streamer bite in the afternoon and evening.
In a typical year, the Green river is often still frozen over in Apirl, however, with a light winter and warm spring it has thawed sooner than normal. The Green is seeing similar flow clycles as the Snake, ranging from 445 cfs to 289 cfs this Apirl so far.
What’s Working:
- Dry Flies: Skwala (size 10-12)
- Nymphs: Red San Juan Worms (size 14–16)
- Streamers: White Dungeons
